Ingredient List

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C for fan assisted ovens)/Gas Mark 4. Toss the apple slices with the sugar and cornflour in a 2-litre ovenproof baking dish. Sprinkle over the water.
  2. Mix the crushed snack bars with the melted butter in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the apple mixture.
  3. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the apples are tender. If the topping starts to brown too much after 30 minutes, cover loosely with foil for the remaining cooking time. Cool slightly before serving with yogurt sprinkled with ground cinnamon.

    Add 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or mixed spice to the apple mixture for a sweet spiced flavour.
    Stir in a handful of raisins or sultanas with the apples or try some chopped dried dates or apricots.
